Complaints Procedure

Our mission statement at Breda Academy states that.

Breda Academy aims to be a safe caring community of life-long learners where positive relationships, based on courtesy, commitment and co-operation enable young people to develop their skills, resilience and confidence for success in life and society.

We endeavour not only to instil these values and priorities in our students but to model them through the behaviours of staff, and to make this mission statement a touchstone against which we can test any action or decision.

At Breda Academy, we therefore take complaints very seriously. We have the best interests of all our pupils and their families at the centre of all we do. In this regard, we encourage anyone with a concern to speak to us as soon as possible. If concerns are dealt with at an early stage, then they are more likely to be resolved and there is no unnecessary dissatisfaction.

Many issues can be addressed simply by talking to the relevant staff in school who will be happy to help. Open communication and regular engagement between the school staff and the wide range of users is vital to the effective management of the school.

We welcome open communication with our staff; you can contact staff through the school office on 028 9064 5374 and someone will get back to you as soon as they can. You can also use your child’s student planner to leave a brief message for them to draw to the teacher’s attention.

If you have any issues please talk to the teacher / form tutor / head of year as soon as possible. Concerns about matters other than in the classroom should be raised with the Principal. We take all concerns seriously and make every effort to resolve matters as quickly as possible.
