Employability

Subject Overview:

Employability is a subject that helps pupils develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for lifelong learning and the world of work. It provides a strong foundation for future success, whether moving into employment, training, or further education.

This is a quote from the Department of Education about the value of studying Employability:

“The Overall objective of an effective career education and guidance programme is to enable a learner to manage their own career development successfully, confidently and with due respect and care for their own needs, those of others and of their wider communities.”

What do we learn in Employability at Breda Academy?

The vision statement of the Employability Department at Breda Academy is:

“To empower pupils to explore their strengths, develop practical skills, and build the personal qualities needed for lifelong learning and meaningful work. Learners today. Leaders tomorrow.”

To develop the learners’ personal and interpersonal skills, enabling them to engage responsibly, ethically, and confidently in their communities, both now and in the future.
