As the summer term draws to a close, Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils have put their few remaining days in school to good use, and have taken part in the annual ‘READ ON’ event, in aid of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. Pupils used their class time and spare time to read as many books as they could, in order to raise money to help seriously ill children and their families living here in Northern Ireland.

Breda Academy pupils took part in their sponsored read with great gusto, resulting in a fantastic total of £652.75. A special mention must be given to Hollie McKay, 8A, who raised a whopping £184! A massive ‘THANK YOU’ to all those pupils who took part, to the family and friends who very kindly sponsored them, and congratulations on raising so much money for a very worthy cause!
