Aims of Department
The Modern Languages department at Breda Academy aims to ensure that all students broaden their horizons by exposure to the language and culture of other countries. Language learning is a key skill in communicating with others and understanding other cultures is essential for any education.

We aim to make students aware of the wide range of cultures and experiences available to them as they progress in their learning. This can be achieved by special events, visits and the use of ICT to bring authentic language into the classroom.

Most recently, the school canteen put on a special French menu during the European football championships. Pupils designed French menus and enjoyed sampling the delicious Boeuf Bourguignon and glace à la vanilla!
